Lead(II) Nitrate
Name:
Lead(II) Nitrate
Alias:
Plumbous Nitrate
Formula:
Pb(NO3)2
Molar Mass:
331.2098

Pb(NO3)2 is a white powder at room temperature. It is soluble in water. Its melting point is 270 ̊C (518 ̊F), density 4.53 g/cm3. Pb(NO3)2 is toxic. Pb(NO3)2 is used in lead paints which is obsolete nowadays.

Example Reactions:
• Pb(NO3)2 = Pb + 2NO2 + O2
• Pb + N2 + 3O2 = Pb(NO3)2
• 2NaNO3 + PbO = Pb(NO3)2 + Na2O
• Zn + Pb(NO3)2 = Zn(NO3)2 + Pb
• Pb(NO3)2 + 2KI = 2KNO3 + PbI2
• Pb(NO3)2 + 2NaCl = PbCl2 + 2NaNO3
• K2CrO4 + Pb(NO3)2 = PbCrO4 + 2KNO3
• Pb(NO3)2 + Na2CO3 = PbCO3 + 2NaNO3
• Pb(NO3)2 + 2NaI = PbI2 + 2NaNO3
• Pb(NO3)2 + 2HCl = PbCl2 + 2HNO3
